25 Amazing Books for Toddlers this Christmas

Over the next several weeks I’m going to highlight some of the top gifts to get all the people on your shopping list this year. This amazing books is one of my son’s favorites! It was illustrated by the Greek Illustrator Sophia Toulliatou and it is simply incredible! My son loves to flip through this book over and over again. Toddlers don’t even realize they’re improving their counting skills because they’re having so much fun looking at this amazing book!

3. My First 100 Series – Amazon

This great series features several different books highlighting 100 objects toddlers can learn. They feature realistic images instead of drawings and help build toddler’s vocabulary as well as encourage their language learning. They feature objects around me, food I eat, animals and more. All of the titles are great additions to any toddler’s library.

4. LeapFrog Learning Friends 100 Words Electronic Book – Amazon

This is another book that has several variations of 100 words for toddler learning. We have the original, animals, and things that go versions and my son absolutely loves them! They are electronic and not only give toddlers the correct pronunciation but also noises and fun facts about the item or animal! All of the variations make would make a great gift for younger toddlers learning to talk!

5. Eric Carle Around the Farm 30 Button Animal Sounds Book – Amazon

This electronic book, created and illustrated by famed Children’s author Eric Carle, features 30 different animals sounds from Around the Farm. Books like this encourage language learning and increased vocabulary in toddlers. This book will be a big hit on Christmas Morning!

Richard Scarry books were my absolute favorite books when I was growing up! The illustrations are so much fun and help encourage your toddler’s language learning and imagination. Amazon features dozens of different titles by Richard Scarry for your toddlers as well as lots of titles for your early readers. The Best Word Book Ever is a great book to start your toddler’s Richard Scarry library!

Play based learning is incredibly beneficial for toddlers and this book really helps with that! There are several different themes available on Amazon.

We absolutely LOVE this book in our house! My son has a great time making the animal sounds like the book does. The illustration is fantastic and makes learning about the farm even more fun! Usborne offers several different sound books including animal sounds, night sounds, and music books. Toddlers will go crazy for these on Christmas morning and throughout the year!

9. Fingertrail ABC – Usborne Books

This book features amazing illustrations and super fun fingertrails to help toddlers learn their Alphabet and start practicing to write it. My son loves reading this book on repeat as he says his alphabet and increases his vocabulary with the coordinating illustrations for each letter. You can get the Big letter alphabet, lowercase alphabet and numbers 1-10. They all make great gifts for any toddler!

10. Red Red Red – Usborne Books/Kane Miller

This amazing book from Kane Miller is wonderful for helping toddlers understand their emotions (specifically anger). This helped my son learn to count to 10 as he was learning to talk. The relatable story about a little boy who’s hangry is definitely a favorite in our house! Toddlers have a lot of emotions but don’t know how to handle any of them. This book helps toddlers develop a routine to count through their feelings and take a deep breath.

11. The Big Book of Nursery Rhymes – Usborne Books

This book features more amazing illustrations from Sophia Touliatou. There are over a dozen classic nursery ryhmes including Twinkle Twinkle, Humpty Dumpty, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and many more! This book can help encourage language learning and vocabulary, as well as your toddler’s singing skills. We absolutely adore this book and it’s incredible illustrations!

This adorable little board book introduces toddlers to our solar system with a look at 8 little planets! The graphics are so cute and encourages toddler’s to use their imagination while learning about the solar system. Lizzy Doyle illustrates the written work of award-winning physicist Chris Ferrie. This is another fantastic book illustrated by Sophia Touliatou where the alphabet comes to life for little readers to help increase their vocabulary. My little guy loves to point out all the things I ask him to find for each letter. His language learning has dramatically improved over the last several months and this is one of our favorite books to help with that! Your toddler will love the pictures and learning all kinds of new words for each letter of the alphabet!

This book is a great addition to any toddler’s library since helps teach them about their emotions! Toddlers have so many emotions and don’t really know how to handle them so they act out. Helping them learn what their emotions mean is the first step in helping them learn how to control them. This book helps encourage emotional intelligence and coping skills. This book is so much fun for any toddler who loves dinosaurs! It includes sounds and interesting facts about 12 different dinosaurs. The extra special part is that it actually comes with the 12 dinosaurs for your little one to play with while they read their book and learn about the different dinosaurs! Toddlers will get a kick out of all the roars and have a blast playing with the dinosaur figures. My guy has struggled with pretend play, but this set really helps him explore that side of his creativity. This is sure to be a BIG hit on Christmas morning!!

This is another great book to teach your toddler about their emotions as well as helping them learn their colors. When a color is attached to a specific emotion it can help toddlers associate and cope with that particular emotion. By now you can tell that I think it’s critically important to teach toddlers about their emotions not only for the emotional intelligence they will gain, but also to teach them coping skills they can build on as they grow older and experience more complex emotions.

17. The Big Book of Numbers – Usborne Books

This is the last book in the series illustrated by Sophia Touliatou. It not only presents numbers 1-10 with amazing illustrations, but also provides interesting facts about all the numbers, even numbers outside the basic 1-10 range. The fantastic pictures keep toddlers engaged while they increase their language learning and counting skills. When the book is this pretty and super interesting, learning is fun and kids can’t wait to dive in to the pages!

This collection of classic Aesop stories is a MUST have for any toddler’s growing library! This is an absolute favorite in our house! At the end of most of my son’s therapy sessions they have me come out and do a couple things with him they call “Parent Training”. I held up this book and asked what’s this, looking for him to say book, but instead he shouted out “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” lol. He loves reading his alphabet and seeing the letters being so silly climbing up the coconut tree! This book helps literacy and encourages language learning in all toddlers. This amazing 5 book set features the classic Dr Seuss books Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, One Fish Two Fish, Fox in Socks, and Cat in the Hat. These books help encourage reading and comprehension skills and they are super fun for kids since they’re so silly! Language learning will come easy for your toddler’s when you start them off right with these great books! If your toddler is anything like mine they LOVE Bluey! Who am I kidding – I LOVE Bluey too! This great search and find book helps toddlers learn how to spot objects in a picture and point them out. My son has struggled with this skill and books like this have really helped his pointing and identification skills. There are several fun Bluey books available on Amazon including Grannies, which is my favorite episode so far!

This book is so great for teaching your toddlers to move their bodies! It doesn’t always come natural and this book really helps get them moving and understanding some of the amazing things our body can do. It can help with coordination, body and space awareness, and movement control as they read along with the story and move when the book tells them to! It’s a great way to harness and focus some of their energy while they learn about their body function.

23. 1001 Animals to Spot – Usborne Books

This book is amazing because it features 1001 animals to spot all organized by the habitat that they’re found in normally. There are over a dozen different 1001 to Spot titles with all different themes. Some are more difficult than others and this one is best for 3+. Usborne Books offers all of these books are a very reasonable price which makes it a perfect Christmas gift for lots of kids on your list!

This book is awesome for older toddlers as they get ready to start school! It helps encourage language learning and helps toddlers increase their vocabularies. The book features over 400 words with amazing illustrations to help toddlers learn the words and items they’ll need to communicate at school. Not only can this book help with a toddler’s language development, but it will also help their self confidence when they start school because they’ll be much more familiar with what they find in their own classrooms!
